Halifax County Substance Use Coalition (HCSUC)

Founded in 2022, the Halifax County Substance Use Coalition (HCSUC) was established to provide connectivity between public health and the community resources that support substance use prevention, support, and recovery.  Guided by the Principles of Harm Reduction, the Four Pillar Approach to Drug Problems, and our community’s strengths and needs, the Halifax County Substance Use Coalition is an inclusive collaborative of people and agencies impacting and impacted by substance use.  We come together to stay informed, connect and share resources, impact gaps, and work to empower the community to holistic health, mental and physical, heal from trauma, and pursue true wellness.

Vision Statement:

The HCSUC will strive to create safe spaces for honest dialogue, learning with people who use substances and those that support them, to create positive systemic change within the Halifax County community.

Mission Statement:

Through collaborative dialogue, partnerships, and community action, the HCSUC will promote community strategies that are trauma informed, evidence based, and equity focused, to reduce the impact of problematic substance use and harm that reflects the needs of the Halifax County community.

Meeting Schedule:

Meetings occur on the 4th Tuesday, every other month:  January, March, May, July, September, & November at 11 am EST.  All meetings are hybrid so feel free to join us however best suits you.
