Birth, Death and Marriage Certificates

Beginning June 1, 2011, the Halifax County Register of Deeds Office will be partnering with Genesis Systems, Inc. to offer customers the convenience of ordering certified copies of Halifax County birth, death and marriage records using a debit or credit card by internet, fax or phone. The cost of all certified copies is $10 per copy plus an additional debit or credit card processing fee of $8 per transaction. Halifax County will retain the statutorily mandated $10 fee for each certified copy ordered, but please be advised that neither the Halifax County Register of Deeds nor Halifax County will retain any portion of the aforementioned $8 processing fee. The processing fee will be paid by the customer directly to Genesis Systems, Inc.
