FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS

We will not provide bus transportation to and from camp this year.

All camps are limited to 60 campers.

Camp #1  - Environmental Science Camp -  June 13 - 17  (Ages 6-14)

Cost $55.00

There are many fields in science; this week will focus on technology, space, and nature.  To understand our environment, earth and space, science and technology must work closely together.  During this week, we will take a look at the stars in a planetarium, handle a wide variety of animals, both mammals and reptiles, study some plants, and may visit Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park and Eco-Center in Scotland Neck, the worlds largest waterfowl collection.  We will also take a visit to the lake to swim and canoe.

Camp #2  -  Art Camp  -   June 20 - 23  (Ages 6-14)

Cost $50.00 (No Camp Friday, June 24th)

There are many things to learn about art, varying mediums, different materials, and the many different ways people see the same object.  This week will enable campers to see the fun side of creativity and realize their own talents.  Campers this week will learn to express themselves in new ways that will help them in many parts of their life, not just with their creative side.  This will be a great opportunity to learn to express yourself, without being a professional artist, as we will be bringing in guest instructors that are professionals in their field.   We will have many other traditional camp activities during this week as well.  There will not be any camp on Friday, June 24th this week.

Camp #3  - iNature Camp  -  June 27 – July 1  (Ages 8-14)

Cost $75.00  (Includes field trip costs.)

This is a brand new concept to help campers explore the great outdoors without having to give up their cell phones, iPods, laptops, and other technological devices.  This is the one week that we will allow campers to bring these items and actually utilize them at camp.  We will have this technology at camp as well in case campers don’t want to take a chance on losing their own.  During this camp we will take hikes, make presentations, and learn that we can get outdoors and use technology to enhance the fun to be found in our natural surroundings.  We will also take a field trip to the Richmond Science Museum on Thursday of this week and will be a longer day to enjoy some additional hands-on activities.

Camp #4  - Kids Cooking Camp  -  July 5 - 8  (Ages 6-14)

Cost $50.00  (No Camp Monday, July 4 th)

Are you allowed in the kitchen on your own?  When did Emeril Lagasse and Rachael Ray decide to become chefs?  Learn the basics of kitchen safety, experience new flavors and prepare a meal with pizzazz.  Come to camp and let your culinary imagination take off!  The culmination of this week will be a lunch campers prepare for themselves that will be healthy for them, yet something they will enjoy eating. This week is a recipe for fun! There will not be any camp on the Monday, July 4th holiday during this week

Camp #5  - Outdoor Adventure Camp  -  July 11 - 15  (Ages 6-14)

Cost $55.00

Youth will enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities while gaining an appreciation for the great outdoors.  The week will be a non-stop adventure of hiking, building shelters, archery, camping skills, challenge activities, fishing, bee keeping, farm animals, forest ecology, and geospatial science, just to name a few.  We will also challenge ourselves on the High Ropes Course and Rock Climbing Wall during this week.  Join us as we explore everything the outdoor world has to offer

Camp #6  -  Aquatic Camp  -   July 18 - 22  (Ages 6-14)

Cost $65.00  (Includes Field Trip Cost)

Wet and wild is the theme for this week so have a bathing suit, towel, and change of clothes for each day starting Monday. During this week we will enjoy canoeing, swimming, water games, and many traditional camp activities all rolled together to make our theme come true. Our week will include several trips with some of these activities done out of camp. On Thursday of this week we will take a field trip to Water Country USA in Williamsburg, VA. and spend Thursday night at camp and dismiss at 9:00 am on Friday morning. Parents need to make sure that campers are able to swim at least 75 yards using the front crawl and tread water for one minute in order to sign up for this camp. Campers will be checked and non-swimmers will be sent home without a refund .

Camp #7  - Colonial Days Camp -  July 25 - 29  (Ages 6-14)

Cost $75.00  (Includes field trip costs.)

Camp this week is going to be lots of fun as we explore life during the colonial period of the 1700’s.  We will work with the Historic site in Halifax as we explore colonial clothing, food, school, and life of that time period.  We will make period crafts, churn butter, learn how to carry water and play historic games.  Field trips will be taken to Historic Halifax, NC and also on Thursday of this week to Historic Jamestown, VA.  While in Jamestown, we will have the opportunity to see the life of Native Americans as well as tour their historic ships that brought people across the ocean to America.  This week should give campers a real appreciation for all the conveniences we have now in modern times that were not available just a few years ago.

Camp #8  -  CSI Camp -   August 1 -  5  (Ages 6-14)

Cost $85.00 (Includes field trip costs.)

Scooby Doo and Shaggy have nothing on the mystery that surrounds this week of camp.  It seems that someone or something is trying to run all of our campers off and we are going to have to utilize all the skills we learn this week to solve this mystery.  Campers will be able to study fingerprints, blood samples, learn to make castings of tire tracks and footprints, and watch how the police utilize canines to help solve crimes.  We will also provide each camper with identity cards complete with photos, fingerprints, and their own DNA sample.  On Thursday of this week, as this is the last camp of the summer, we will also take a field trip to Water Country, USA in Williamsburg, VA.  We will spend Thursday night at camp dismissing early on Friday morning just after we solve the mystery of what has happened at camp.

The schedule and fees are subject to change.
